Curling is a sport which is like bowls because you have to push a granite stone across a ice surface which is 42m long and 4.2m wide to try get it closest to the circle. Each team will get 8 stones and theres 4 per team and it is a non-contact sport.

In Curling there is gear, Some of the gear you need is the shoes, The shoes help you get grip on the ice floor. there are curling pants that are strechy to help them for moving the stone.

Curling was made in the 14-15 centuary. Curling was first offically in the olympics in 2006.

Tauranga Boys Colledge Visit

Today we went to Tauranga Boys Colledge to see our classes and to have a tour around the school. First they toke us to the gymnasim  and we sat in the stands and watched TBC to the haka. Next the called out groups and we went with a teacher to our classrooms. We got taken to our classroom which was room 19 and we all toke a seat somewhere in the class. He spoke for a bit and told us about inquiry class, the only people I knew in our class were Haoni, Ryan and Luke. Some year 10 students showed us the project they were working on. Next our teacher toke us for a tour around TBC and showed us some classrooms. Next we all met up in the gymnasin and we got taken out of the gym in lines and most of us got a iceblock but some of us didnt.

Saturday Dad and I worked on our trailer. Dad wanted to make a covered in trailer so we started making some progress on the trailer. We got the top half done and the front, all we need to do is the the bottom half. We were also gonna add a mini fridge that we got into there as well. 

Sunday morning I got up at 7:30 to get ready to go to Patetonga. At 9:00 we left and started our drive to Patetonga. On the way we stopped in Matamata and went to a cafe, I got a smoothie. Not long after we arrived at Patetonga. When we got there, there was lots of other cars such as, Drift Bikes, Sprint Cars, Midgets and Saloons. We stayed there for about 5 hours until there was only the Dirt Bikes and I. We ended up staying for another hour racing. It was quite lucky that we raced there because some things went wrong and we were able to fix them.

Formal Occasion

When I was around 6 I went to Fiji to go to my Aunty and Uncles wedding. We were there for about 1 week and we always went to this bar in the morning, my favourite breakfast there was pancakes. For the wedding I had to wore a white buttoned shirt and long pants. When I was at the wedding I didn't really know what was happening so I followed Dad around for the whole wedding. In Fiji I just about drowned when I fell in the pool and my brother saved me. I was in the pool for quite a long time.

On Wednesday we had Mrs Gilmore as a reliever because Miss Campbell was sick. The first thing we did was our morning blog post. We wrote our blogpost and then went to social. In social we did about 5 dances. In middle block we went to the SPCA presentation, where Norm Hewitt told us about animal cruelty and his life story. Norm Hewitt he was really funny and he played a lot of jokes. He told us about how his life was as a kid and how he wanted to be a cowboy when he was 7.

 Washoe was a female common chimpanzee which was the first non-human to learn to communicate using American Sign Language. Washoe learned about 350 words American Sign Language. Washoe also taught her adopted son Loulis some American Sign Language. Washoe was born in West Africa in 1965. She was captured for the research for the space program. Washoe was named for Washoe County, Nevada, where she was raised and taught to use American Sign Language. In 1967, Allen and Beatrix Gardner  made a project to teach Washoe American Sign Language at the University of Nevada. To show people the Washoe had learned a sign she had to use it appropriately for 14 straight days. Washoe had lived at Central Washington University since 1980, on October 3 2007, officials from the Chimpanzee and Human Communication Institute on the CWU campus said that she died at the age of 42.

The Delayed Gratification Stanford Marshmallow Experiment is a experiment when a kid around 5 years old is put in a room with a marshmallow on a plate and no distraction around them. They can either eat the marshmallow right away or wait for approximately 15 minutes and get another one. In some followup studies they found out that children who were able to wait longer preferred rewards tend to have a better life outcomes. In over 600 children who took part in the Delayed Gratification Stanford Marshmallow Experiment, a small amount of children ate the marshmallow immediately. The rest of the children who attempted to wait and get the seconds marshmallow only one third managed to get the second. The first follow up study was in 1988 showed that they were much more improved. In 1990 also showed that there were higher SAT scores.

Monday 26 August for the whole day girls in room 41 and 42 went and did self defense and the boys did film making all day. We made a script and we made it into a movie and showed it to the class. One of the things we had to have in it were cookie pads. Connor accidentally throw one down the hill and didn't tell the teacher. The next day on Tuesday Travis told the teacher and so Connor had to find it or his family would have to pay a $60.00 bill for the cookie pad. So Connor, Kodi, Zane and I went down the hill just out of the gate of Tauranga Intermediate School and went down to the estuary when Zane say 3 boys and told us. We chased after them after realizing they had a scooter. We didn't catch them as they ran into the bush. "Don't come closer, we will knock you out, we don't want to hurt you" 3 boys said. They stashed the scooter in some leaves and ditched to miervale.

A Sub-Orbital Spaceflight is when a spacecraft reaches space 100km from sea level and then comes back down to earth. 100km above sea level is know as Kármán line which is the edge of space. The first suborbital vehicles which reached space were the ballistic missile, It was a german V-2 on October 3, 1942 which reached a altitude of 97km. Eight years later in the 1950s the USA USSR (eastern Europe and northern Asia) concurrently created a much longer range Ballistic Missiles (ICBM Intercontinental Ballistic Missile with a range over 5,500km) which were based on the V-2 rocket. Currently there are many countries who have the ICBM.

Daniel learnt Icelandic language in 2 weeks which is the hardest language to learn in the world.Daniel Tammet knows thirteen languages and can say them really well. George Finn can remember all the dates on what year. George Finn is calendar man and also a savant. George if you told him a date of some year he will be able to say what day that was.

My Weekend Poem

Playing Battlefield 3 with Zane and friends, I spawn in, its conquest again.
I jump in the Abrams go to the flag, with my gunner in hand to cap the flag.
I see a tank, Its shooting at me, oh look who it is ,Its the damn russians how mean.
I fire back at them hope to destroy them with my gunner on repairs.
We destroy them fast, he repairs my reactive armour, as we start our epic rampage.
We go get some more flags and kills, as the heli shooting at us as hard as he can.
We turned the barrel 180 degrees, as I shot the main gun oh that was fun.
The points come up on the screen saying "Double kill". I yell really hard. Zane is raging he is really mad as he says, "you are so bad"

Homework Week 1-2 Research Task

XO Laptop is a cheap laptop for the purpose built for developing children's learning in countries. The size of the OLPC (One laptop per children) is about the size of a textbook. The XO Laptop was designed to be a cheap, small and efficient. The Laptop includes the following video camera 640x480, microphone, long-range Wi-Fi, and a touch pad. With the standard plug-in power cord there is also a solar power. Some amazing facts about it is it is dust proof. It is also water proof so anything water wont hurt it, and it is completely drop proof which is amazing. It has a 6 hour lasting battery and 24 hour if you are reading. You can also get a the solar panel as mentioned early for$12.00 ad on. One other thing about the XO laptop is that in a 2 week period if you bought one you donate one to a poor child in a different country just paying a bit extra. In my opinion I think this laptop is cool because it helps poor people in schools improve there learning and it is amazing what it does. 

Bullying

I have experienced a bit of bulling myself in primary not so much in intermediate. I have experienced name calling not much else then that but thats mainly what I have been bullied at. In primary I was in a big group of friends and didn't get bullied.

In my opinion bulling in some schools is not dealt with. Bulling should be dealt with better because its sad for the person getting bulling and the bully doesn't stop sometimes in some schools because they don't punish them enough. I think if bulling should be dealt with parents.

Battlefield better then Call of Duty Black Ops 2

For: In battlefield there is more of a variety of guns and kits, in Battlefield there is recon with spawn beacons, assault with medic pack and defibrillator, engineer with repair tool and a support class with ammo packs.
Battlefield has tanks, helicopters, jets and a cool plane that is the a-10 thunderbolt. I like the vehicles in battlefield because they are really cool and I use the tanks a lot and they are really cool, I normally use ground vehicles and the others normally use flying vehicles.  

Against: Call of Duty is more of a quick game not as long as battlefield and the I like snipers and so Call of Duty would be better for me because there is bullet drop in battlefield and its really hard to use a sniper.

Augmented Reality (abbreviated as AR) is a environment that has both of virtual reality (Computerized) and real world stuff. An example of AR is the yellow line that is seen in TV programs of football games that is drawn over the real life image by computers in time with the real life image as seen in these pictures.

Another perfect example would be google glasses. You can use the google glasses to explain augmented reality. You could measure something with google glasses, you can receive calls from people and you would be able to see it in the corner of your eye.

I am famous in acting. I have got a weird name. I am in 3 movies involving robots. I have short brown hair. I was born in los angeles California. I am only 27 years old. In one of the movies my girlfriend is  mekaela.

My Holiday Going to The Movies

In the holidays I went and saw a cool movie. The movie was Despicable Me 2. When my aunty called me and asked me if I wanted to come to the movies with them and I said yes. After a bit they came and picked me up and we went to the movies. But when we got there the tickets were sold out so we waited 1 hour and a bit for the next one. In the mean time we got some lunch. We went to Subway and got some 6 foot subs. After we got out of subway we just walked down the streets and looked at shops. "Wheres your jacket?" asked marie (Aunty) "I don't have one" I replied. So we went down to the shop and got me one. I told her she didn't have to get me one but it was nice of her. We got my this jersey that was on sale. It was grey and black. After that it was about time to watch the movie so we made our way to the movies. We got into the cinemas and we got a ice-cream each and made our ways into the movies. Then I wasn't paying attention very much and Adam came at the last minute. We watched the movie and it was good. I like the first one as well. After we got out of the movies Adam had $20.00 so he exchanged it out for $2.00 and we played some games. I versed Jacob in the racing game. I came first and Jacob came second. The gap was only about 1-2 seconds. Adam versed Conor and I don't remember the placing but Adam used manual.

Term 2 Overview

Main events we had in term 2 were camp, cross country, technology, science fair.

My Highlight: My highlights of term two was a few things. One if those things was Camp. Camp was a lot of fun. My favourite activity at camp was paintball. Paintball was awesome. The activity's I enjoyed  aswel as paintball is the overnight stay. Our tent corner came of and we all got soaked and it was a lot of fun.

My Lowlight: My lowlight of the term would be cross country and writing. I dislike writing a lot and the same with cross country. Cross country was really dumb, because didn't get a good placing. My placing was 183rd.

I have improved at: I have improved on most subjects. Maths is my favourite and I got 40/40 in my iKAN. And I am enjoying the reading we have every day.

I still need to improve on: I still need to improve on my writing because I not very good at it. I dont really enjoy writing as much as the other subjects but my writing is the one I need to improve on.

Homework Blog Post Book Review Part 3

This book is called Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. It is written by J.K Rowling and is a very good book. When I read this book it keeps me wanting to read more. It is always an excitement because I have never seen any Harry Potter films.

Harry got selected to play for the quditch team. Harry played for gryffidor in a game. Harry was a seeker, Harry ended up winning the game for his team and putting his house in the lead for once in 7 years. But unforatuly Harry, Ron, Hermione where in the library when they say Hagrid in a section in the library. When Hagrid left a book on the table and Harry saw the book, the book was How to train a dragon. To have your own dragon pet is illegal in Hogwarts. While later Harry and his friends found out that Hagrid had a dragon. But the dragon was any ordinary dragon it was a rare species. Some while later when Hagrid and Harry where in Hagrid's hut Malfoy saw them through the window. Hagrid knew he had to get rid of the dragon, Harry and Hermione convinced Hagrid to let the dragon go before Malfoy would tell Dumbledore which would get Hagrid kicked from Hogwarts. At night they dont let anyone around Hogwarts. With Harrys invisible cloak Harry and Hermione snuck up with the dragon to the highest point in Hogwarts there would meet Hagrid's friend to take the dragon. When they got up they saw Malfoy but they didn't get seen by him because they were in the cloak. Malfoy got caught by one of the teachers and lost points of slytherin. Hagrid's friends arrived some time later and toke the dragon. But when Harry and Hermione went back to goto there rooms they forgot to put the cloak back on. They ended up getting caught and lost all the points of gryffidor and getting detention aswel as Malfoy, but Malfoy only lost a couple of points of slytherin. Everyone hated Harry and Hermione and Ron from then on, no one really liked them because they made gryffidor lose all there points and they were coming first about to win the house points cup.

This book is really one of the best books I have read. If you have read it I really recommend it is a really nice book to read. And because I have never seen any Harry Potter movies its really exciting, I am gonna read most of the books before watching the movies.

Homework Post Book Review Part 2

Harry Potter and Philosophers Stone is a great book. It is written by J.K.Rowling. There is lots of excitement and action in this book. I love how much I have read of it so far. I love this book and I will probably read the next one aswel.

When Harry was at Hogwarts one of the first things that happened was the sorting hat. The sorting hat will sort all the first years as hinted in the name sorting hat. Harry got put into Gryffindor aswel as Hermione and Ron. His first class was the potion master with Snape. When he was in class Snape would always pick Harry for all the questions he would ask when other peoples hand was up like he was picking on Harry. Harry hated Dudley and always has until he met Malfoy. Harry hated Malfoy, Malfoy was in Slytherins. Harrys next class was flying broomsticks. After an accident the teacher left and told no one to get on there broomstick. After the teacher left Malfoy snatched a present of a person. And he fly up on his broomstick to attract Harrys attention. Harry yelled to give it back and Malfoy replied come and get it. Harry got on his broomstick and chased Malfoy. After a whole lot of chasing Malfoy dropped it. Harry flew down as fast as he could getting the present but the teacher came and say and Harry got in trouble.

This book is a brillant book and I am loving it. Although I take really long to read books I am really enjoying the book. I sometimes just reread some of the book to remember whats happened because it takes me so long I forgot. But I really enjoy the book and it makes me want to read more.

Homework Post Book Review Part 1

Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone by J.K.Rowling is a good book. The reason I say this is because I am very picky about books and I dont like more then about %80 I read, and this book I seem to enjoy. 

It starts of with Harry living with Mr and Mrs Dursley becuase Harrys parents died in a car crash. The Dursleys weren't overly very nice to Harry, when it was his birthday they would give him there sons Dudley old clothes or something not very nice like that. Once day Harry got a letter. Harry had never gotten a letter in his life. But Mr Dursley didn't let Harry read. A while later Harry got another letter. Mr Dursleys snatched it from him again before Harry could read it.Once Harry and the Dursleys moved to a shack around midnight there was a knock on the door. Hagrid knocking the door smashing the door right of its hinges. Little while later Harry got told he was a wizard by Hagrid. Later he got on a train to Hogwarts and there he started to go to school at Hogwarts to learn his very first spells and magic.

I love this book because it was very well described plot that I could understand pretty well. I also have never seen any Harry Potter movie but a little bit of one of the later in the series movie. So its a surprise to me. I like all the stuff about mopr=agic I think its quite cool. I have only read 1/3 of the book and I think this book will get really exciting and It will be awesome. I would really recommend this book to get out it is very good.

On Saturday I started to do the 10x10 grid. First I got my dad to draw me a random 10x10 grid, then I went onto this website with a stopwatch. My Dad timed me on my laptop. The first time I got 2 minutes and seven second. When I got this I instantly tried again to get under 2 minutes. After a while I completed the grid and got two minutes and 12 seconds. I don't know why I got worse but I tried on Sunday. On Sunday I tried the challenge again to see if I could do it this time. My Dad drew me up a grid and started the stopwatch, completing it at two minutes and 1 second which was really close and knew I could do it the next time I tried. So I tried again, Started the stopwatch and I started. Completing it in one minute and fifty seven seconds. Surprisingly I thought I would ace it first go but maybe I over estimated or just jinxed myself

Blog Post 1/7/13 Bad Product or Service

A bad product that I bought was Black Ops 2. After watching the trailer I thought it was gonna be really cool and so I bought it. After I bought I played It straight away. From going to non prestige to 1st, and to 2nd. After that it wasn't really a good game, I didn't like it but played it after I got bored. There are so good points in the game but mostly bad points, some of the good points is that there is to many op guns in the game and stuff like that. Till today I am only 5th prestige and not really gonna move from that level. If I knew it was gonna be the way it was I would have returned it so I could buy a better game which probably would have been something like battlefield 3.

After watching the trailer I thought for sure it would be a good game but obviously I made a mistake.

Science Fair Summary Spray on Toothpaste

Connor and I are doing science fair on spray on toothpaste. We wanted to create a spray toothpaste as hinted in the name. We created the spray on toothpaste because it would be easier to get all the toothpaste out of the tube because there is always some in the bottom. We created the the name of the spray on toothpaste which is Oral Fresh. The can is decorated can with the prices on the side of it, which is  $8.00 for a new one and $5.00 for a refill.

reCAPTCHA

reCAPTCHA is a site that turns old books, Newspapers and old time radio shows and digitizes them. CAPTCHA is a program to tell wether its human or computer. It is used to prevent bots spamming or automated programs usually written to make spam. There is no computer that can read distorted text, so if sites are protected by CAPTCHA then bots cant spam. Around about 200 million CAPTCHAS are being figured out by humans a day.

I have used these many times and get really annoyed by them but now I know that it helps turn olds books newspapers and old time radio shows it doesnt really annoy me.

Cross Country Race

Yesterday on 25th of June 2013 the school did the Cross country. The first group to go was the year 7 girls. In the year 7 girls race a girl from Rimu won, she got 10:30. Then the year 7 boys went. There wasn't on winners from Rimu year 7 boys. When the year 8 girls went but I didn't see there race but there were no winners from Rimu in the year 8 girls race. When we were going there was the sound of the gun and everyone started to run. Around about 10 boys got pushed over, after one got pushed over many more got fell over the ones who were pushed over.

After a while the race was over and I came 183rd. I didnt do as good as I did last year unfortunately.

Rimu Tree

The Rimu tree also know as Dacrydium Cupressinum is a big evergreen tree located in the forests of New Zealand. The Rimu Tree is found throughout North Island, South Island and Steward Island. The largest trees are now found at the west coast region which reaches from Kahurangi point and the Awarua Point of the South Island, but the biggest trees are found in Mixed Podocarp Forest near to Taupo. 

Rimu Trees are a large tree growing up to 800-900 years. Its trunk of a Rimu Tree normally is 1.5m in diameter, but it may be larger or very tall. Rimu and other trees such as Totara, Kauri and Matai were the sources of wood New Zealand for constructions such as buildings and furniture. You might find it hard to believe but the inner bark can also be used to treat burns and cuts.

I think that Rimu is the best house in the school because we get the write and do our work on laptops and I think that is really cool because writing in a book is really boring. Also Rimu is really cool because we have nice people in our house.

Heroes of Newerth 

Heroes of Newerth aslo know as HoN is a 5v5 multiplayer online game with a hero pool of 95. 

                                                     HoN is alike LoL and Dota.

 .In HoN there are 3 lanes, Bot Lane, Top lane And Mid lane. Two players will go down bot or top. And 1 person will go down Mid. Mid will be the one who will get the most experience in your team. In your team you need a Intelligence, Strength and Agility. Agility is your carry, Your carry will help you win the game during the late stage of the game. Strength is your tank/Initiator. Intelligence is your support. Support is the person who will ward and help you win the game when placing wards around the map making it easier to pick of enemy heroes to earn gold and experience. From about 1-10 minutes this will be farming phase. This is were you want your carry to farm creeps so they can get more items so they will be good late game when it comes if your team cant win.

My Mums job is working at the gas station and housework. She normally works for approximately  2 hours longer then a schoolday. She will wake up at 7:00 and take us to school at 8:00. After Mum drops Caitlyn and I of at school she will sometimes go to BB'S Cafe and get coffee for all the workers. Sometimes she will go back into the house and do housework of will stay at work. At 3:00 she will come pick Caitlyn and I up and after she picks us up she will go back to work. At approximately 4:00-5:00 Mum will start to cook us dinner depending on what she cooks if it takes a long time or not. Occasionally she will cook something for the workers like scone or muffins during the day.

"Matt dont drink the Ribena" Said Caitlyn.

I replied "Why its not just all yours, its 1.5L"

"Yes it is" As she yells across the house.

"Well, im drinking some" I replied.

"NOOO" Caitlyn comes sprint across the house.

"Dont drink the Ribena, drink this its this raspberry drink and its got like 5% vodka or something, I'd rather you drink this then the Ribena" Caitlyn said.

"Fine, But if this drink isn't good im gonna drink the Ribena" I replied.

I drink the drink and it was quite nice. 

"Just dont drink my Ribena" Caitlyn said. "Its mine"

The Story of Steve

Once there was a person named Steve, he was in this mysterious blocked world. Steve had no idea what was going on, Why everything was blocked and even himself was blocked. Steve decided he was going to have to survive in the mysterious world so he had to get some tools and some food to survive the night. Steve starting to cut down trees to get some wood so he could make some basic tools. Steve had to make a sword so he could kill some animals to get some food. Once steve had made some tools he went out to find some animals to kill. Steve stopped thinking he had heard something, and steve had. There was a quite chicken noise in the back round. Steve made his way to the sound of the chicken. Steve saw the chicken within a couple of meters. Steve creeped up as slow as he could, until Steve was just behind it and toke a huge slash at the chicken killing it in one shot. The next thing Steve had to do was build a shelter/house. Steve went back to chopping down trees so he could build a house for the night. As night started to fall Steve got worried. Steve had no source of light, nothing. Steve started to make a 4x4 house as quick as he could because night was only seconds away. Steve managed to make a make do house for the night. Steve was safe for now. Steve woke up with with a huge yawn. Steve broke one of the blocks outside to be sure it was morning, and it was. Steve made his way outside at glad he survived.

My Weekend 17/6/13

My Weekend

In the weekend I talked to some friends on Skype and I played some games. One of the games I played is wasted on Minecraft. Wasted is a Minecraft version of Wasteland. In wasted there is different citys and different citys have shops. There are only 5 citys with shops and they are normally taken over by really good people. In wasted there are different types of guns. My personal favourite would be the AA-12 or the PkP. You can get jetpacks which are really rare but since me and Zane are beast we get them all the time. There is also kevlar which is armor that you can get so you are more protected from bullets and can survive longer. In wasted there are drop zone's, they can drop guns and jetpacks and really good guns and rocket launchers and grenade launchers. The shopkeeper is PauseUnpause and he is a you tuber which is really cool .I love wasted it is a very good game. I played it with Zane, Daniel, Connor, Taylor and Ryan.H. On the weekend I got my highest kill streak which was 92. After that I didn't do much, I watched this movie that my sister was watching. The movie was Dragon Ball Z. On Sunday I played a bit more wasted again with Zane, Ryan.H and some with Daniel.

Nonsense or Meaningless speech.

Mumbo Jumbo Means no sense, Confusing, meaningless. His story was a whole lot of mumbo jumbo.In the 18th century mumbo jumbo was know as West African God. Mumbo jumbo basically means that you nonsense or meaningless speech or text. My Mum and Dad always use you're dreaming joanse when I ask for something expensive.

Charging Laptops at school

• What are the negatives of charging laptops at school? Charging laptops at school will cost the school unnecessary money because people can charge their laptop at home so they dont have to charge there computer at school. 

• What are 2 of the suggestions for solving the problem?

         People can turn down there brightness and turn of there wi-fi to save power and see if that lasts.

The people who use a charger at school should pay at least ¢20 every time the use it at school and have a little punishment like doing a few extra minutes working during lunch time.

• What is your opinion about rimu students charging their laptops at school. Give reasons.

I dont think rimu students should be able to charge their laptops because it will cost the schol money.

My Weekend

In the weekend I was so excited to see my cousin Jak Hobbs, He come to my house and we played a lot of games. On Saturday in the morning we play some Bo2. We played that for 3 hours and then we watched some youtube videos after that. After about 2-3 hours we went back a played some more Bo2 and FtB.  For the rest of the day we didn't do much until night we we talked to 12:00. On sunday we went out for breakfast at BB's. When we got home we were gonna watch Human Centipede 1 and 2 but we got psytracted and played some more games.

I wonder how life is when you die

When you die it really depends on your religions and what your believes are. Christens believe  you will go to hell or heaven, Hindu and buddism say you relive karma when you die so you can learn lifetime was about and get ready to make a new one. I dont believe any of these religions myself so I am Atheist

Q. Why dont we get dizzy when the earth is spinning

In our ears there is a sense of balance fluid called equilibrioception. When you spin in a circle and then stop, inertier keeps fluid in your ears spinning. When the earth is spinning the fluid in our ears is spinning as fast as our bodies.

I Wonder Why

I wonder why we dont get dizzy when the world spins round.

I wonder if a deaf person swears or rages.

I wonder how life is when you die. 

Technology Challenge

On Friday Cole, Milly, Jessica and Britney went to the Technology Challenge in the gym. The first challenge we did was a challenge when you had to make a structure that can hold up a marble 5cm of the ground. We built a rectangle going up in the air with the marble hanging down the middle. The second challenge was you had to make a structure out of a 2 bags, 3 A4's, cardboard paper. You had to make a structure that can keep a egg safe dropping it from a max of 3m. The next challenge was you had to make a structure that could pull a chisel and a hammer that is 2.5m away from you. You had 1 newspaper, String, Plastic bag. We only managed to get the hammer because it wasn't strong enough. The Technology Challenge was fun but I think there is stuff we could have done better.

Mavis The 2nd

Mavis the 2nd had found a weird thing lying in the middle of Desertopia.
Mavis the 2nd was a Lizard medium size and was darkish green colour. He had Orange eyes and a long tail. He was lost and there was no sign of civilization. Mavis the 2nd found a mysterious box in Desertopia. Mavis the 2nd decided to look inside the mysterious box to see what was inside this or what it is. As he moved really slowly he popped his head into the box to see a random set of colour's. It was a portal. Mavis the 2nd decided he was gonna go in it. Mavis the 2nd was in a black room with a couple of doors all leading to a a dirrerent dimension. Mavis the 2nd went throw the middle door which lead to a hellish place, there was lots of fire. Mavis the 2nd went back throw the door and went throw the one on the right this time. This time it lead to a lots of friends included Pickles. Pickles was Mavis the 2nd's best friend. Pickles is black lizard with blue eyes.

The Satellite Classroom

Yesterday we went to see the new satellite classroom that just moved by our classroom because their old one got burnt down. In the classroom there is a guy called Bobby, He showed us around the place. There furniture was quite cool and it looked really comfortable. They were like beach chair but really cushiony. Bobby showed us all the people that were in the class.

The Weekend

In the weekend I went to a MiniStock Prize giving. We stayed there for about 2 and a half hours. Caitlyn and I got a particapating award because we are only learning. Unfortunately we didn't get anything else like most people did, some people got huge awards like as big as two 30cm rullers.We also got a bucket with some stuff in it. Suprisingly Dad said the bucket would have at least $100.00 and they gave like 15 of them out. To tell the truth the weekend kind of sucked because I had a cold but besides that I had a good weekend playing Bo2 most of the time.

A Science Experiment

Baking Soda And Vinegar Volcano

I remember when I was younger I used to make some baking soda and vinegar volcanos on my lawn. I used to put the cup with baking soda into the sandpit and I would build a sand castle around it. Then I would put some vinegar and watch it burst out, I always thought that they were really cool. I remember one time I made the whole sand pit into a sandcastle and did one on it with x2 everything and added red food colouring to make it look like lava. Another time I did two volcano so it would look cooler. I always used to do it with my sister and my brother and sometimes mum got angry at us for using a lot of it.

MiniStock Racing

My own P: Race a Ministock For a whole year.

On Saturday 13 April Dad, Caitlyn and I went to BayPark Speedway to race Caitlyn and I’s MiniStock. When we got there we unloaded the trailer by taking the our cars of the trailer. Caitlyn and I have to go to scrutineering where we have to get our cars checked incase theres something wrong. Then we would park a cars back at the car and wait till they call us up. We were the third race and it was 6 laps. All of our races were 6 laps. I have only raced for a couple of months now and still learning, But I cant wait till I win my first race It will be exciting.

The first race the track was slippery and I did alright in that race

The second race the track was starting to get really bumpy, Caitlyn got pushed into the wall by someone who got spun out. She wasnt aloud to race the last race, but I don't know why.

The third race was really bumpy and heaps of pot holes and there was heaps of crashes and rolls on other peoples races.

This is me beating someone.

I have chosen this topic as my own because I love doing it, it is a whole lot of fun especially when you're beating your friend or sister.

Sundance Dog eats $500

A dog named Sundance has eaten five $100.00 notes. The owner of the dog named Wayne ( My dads name) left his dog in the car while he went to a restaurant. The owner Wayne did not want to lose the cash so he has collected the dogs droppings and has tapped it back together. He has sent it to US Treasury Department hoping they will replace it. They said the process could take up to 2 years.

In my opinion I would not accept the money that he sent because it has been throw dog poop. That has happened to my dog when we left her in the house and she went into the kitchen and ate dark cooking chocolate. Also The dog is a golden retriever and the owners name is Wayne, And My dads name is Wayne and he has a golden retriever.

A Lion Air Line Plane has crashed just of the runway in Bali on 16 April. All 101 passengers survived and 7 crew members but some said to be injured. This Airline Has been banned in america and European.

Dubai Police gets a Lamborghini Aventador

Police in Dubai have got a $700,000 Lamborghini Aventador as a police car that is capable of hitting 100/km/h in 3 seconds and a max of 350km/h. This car is specially modified with white body and a green stripe through the middle with Police on it. I saw a backwards eciloP on the car. (Read eciloP Backwards) In America they are using muscle cars like Chevrolet.I think this is cool because I like Lamborghini and Chevrolets.

Homework Expectations

Amount

We think that 30-45 minutes every weeknight is a reasonable expectation for homework. Per week that equals approximately 2.5 hours per week of homework.

2 terms = 20 weeks. Every homework task should take you 5 hours to do.

Quality

You need to work on each homework task for at least 2.5 to 5 hours. It should like it was done by a year 8 student. The product you make (if relevant) should look good quality.

World Pillow Fight Day

Thousands of people around the world have celebrated World Pillow Fight Day. The day of World Pillow Fight Day is the 6th of April. It was celebrated in London, New York, Amsterdam, Zurich, Boston, Chicago, Hong Kong, Barcelona, Sao Paulo and Toronto. There was two rules they were: Not hitting people with glasses and not to hit very hard.

I personally think this day is amazing because I love pillow fights and I would have love to have done it.

Facebook Forced to Pay

Facebook is making everyone to pay to send messages that are not on there own friends list. This is done because of high profile people e.g Richie McCaw getting loaded with messages. Facebook is charging 65¢ for normal people on Facebook. But people like Richie McCaw they are charging $1.30.

I think this is good because this will stop people getting loads of messages.

Rimu House Swimming Sports

Rimu House Swimming SportsThe races I swam in were: 25m FreeStyle, 25m BreathStroke, 25m Dolphin Dive, 25 Doggie Paddle and 25m Under Water. I got 1 First on BreathStroke and 1 Third tied with Zane Prior On Dolphin Dive. I am kinda happy with my results because I am not a very good simmer and normally didn't come first in any.
I liked swimming sports it was lots of fun, At free time I played with Zane and Conor.

My first month of this year has been good. I have got to know people a little better Conor and Connor. I am in Room 42 with Miss Campbell as my teacher and enjoying it so far. We have done a bit of maths. I am in the top group for maths, I have learned BEDMAS which stands for
(Brackets, Exponents, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction), Square rooting, Squaring ,Pythagoras theorem. We have read a story called All Summer In A Day as a class. We did a prologue, summarize and visual on the story. I have started cricket but I didn't get to trial because I missed the notice so I am in the reserve. Me an my cousin, Jacob Hill are in the same team and we have won one and lost one. Because me and a guy called Oliver wasn't there so we lost. Oliver and I are the best batters in our team.  We have started Technology and Im in Multi Materials with Miss Young and i’m doing alright. I am enjoying the year so far and I think this year is gonna be a great year.
